The company will only sell the product to Ather 450 customers in Chennai and Bangalore. Ather said it has been making changes to its smart scooter Ather 450, one of which is to remove the charger. The company said it will help weight distribution and improve vehicle dynamics.
The Ather Dot is equipped with surge protection and can only be used with the Ather scooter. It features automatic cut-off and application integration, allowing you to continue charging unattended. It is said that Ather Dot takes up to 4 hours and 30 minutes to reach 80% of the SOC, while 0% to 100% takes 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Ather will offer Ather Dot’s paid installation service at Rs 1,800, which is said to include standard installation, consumables and labor costs. You can also manually install the Ather Dot using the installation manual that came with your Ather Dot.
Ather Energy launched its Ather 340 and Ather 450 intelligent electric scooters in India in 2018. Although the more powerful 450 is priced at Rs. 1,130 crore, the 340 is priced at Rs 10.2 crore.
