Asus is one of the few brands to launch a slew of laptops in 2025 priced under Rs. 100,000 price range, especially the Vivobook series. The company ensures to offer the right mix of specifications and features in the Vivobook series, making it a value-for-money proposition for customers. The brand recently launched the Asus Vivobook S16 in new stylish colors. Furthermore, this laptop is priced competitively at Rs. 65,990. You get premium design, long battery life, Snapdragon X-series processors, and more. That said, does it make sense to go with this laptop? I had a chance to use the device for a while, and here’s everything you need to know.
ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) Design: Stylish and Elegant
- Dimensions- 357.0 x 250.7 x 15.9~17.9mm
- Weight – 1.74kg
- Colors- Cool Silver, Matte Grey, BFF Peach and Sage Green
ASUS laptops have their own unique identity. However, most Vivobook models previously had standard gray or silver options. However, on the Asus Vivobook S16, the company decided to add some new colors to give it a fresh feel. The brand has launched new BFF Peacy and Salvia Green color options, alongside existing cool silver and matte grey. I bought the Salvia Green and the color does look elegant. The green iteration doesn’t feel too bulky, is comfortable to carry around, and doesn’t stand out in a crowd.
ASUS Vivobook S16 is available in different colors, including the new and trendy BBF Peach and Sage Green.
This laptop is lightweight at 1.74 kg and is quite slim making it easier to carry around. The lid has the Asus Vivobook CNC engraved logo, which adds to the premium feel. Additionally, when you open the lid, you’ll notice a full-size backlit keyboard and a large touchpad. The laptop also has US MIL-STD 810H military-grade certification, which adds to its durability. That said, the body is mostly made of plastic, and you’ll notice that both the lid and keyboard are flexed.
The latest laptops have a wide selection of ports on both the left and right sides.
The company is also careful in its choice of ports. The left side of the Vivobook has 2 Type-C ports, 1 HDMI 2.1 port, 1 USB 3.2 Gen Type-A port, and 1 3.5mm audio jack. There is a USB Type-A port on the right side. I like that the company placed Type-A ports on both sides, which makes it easier to use as you can easily connect multiple devices without having to worry about whether they will fit next to each other.
ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) Display: Affordable OLED Display
- Display – 16-inch OLED display
- Resolution – Full HD+ (1200×1920 pixels)
- Refresh rate – 60Hz
The display of the new Asus Vivobook S16 is good for its price range. While some laptops offer IPS panels, Asus offers OLED displays. The laptop features a large 16.0-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10. Additionally, you get a 0.2ms response time, up to 300nits peak brightness, 60Hz refresh rate, and 95% DCI-P3 color gamut.
The laptop features a 16-inch OLED display with vibrant colors.
OLED is certainly a great addition and better than IPS panels as it offers better colors, deeper blacks, and enhanced contrast. So, whether you are watching a series on Netflix or any sports match, you will love the colors of this laptop. That said, the 60Hz refresh rate could have been higher. The smooth motion and animation you get at 120Hz refresh rate is better than a regular 60Hz panel.
As for brightness, it’s enough for indoor use. However, in outdoor conditions, you may find that the display is a bit reflective in nature, making it difficult to read text in broad daylight.

On the security front, you get an infrared-based camera to support Windows Hello, which works well and also comes with a physical privacy shutter. The camera comes with some AI-driven Windows Studio effects to enhance the video calling experience. For a speaker, they are average at best. The bottom-firing speakers aren’t the loudest of them all, and the overall quality is average at best.

ASUS Vivobook S16 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor, which can handle most daily tasks with ease.
Speaking of performance, the ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) can handle most tasks you throw at it with ease. Whether you’re multitasking between different Chrome browsers or switching between MS Word and Excel, you won’t have much trouble handling your day-to-day related tasks. The Qualcomm chipset can manage all these tasks easily and efficiently, and the thermal management is much better than its Intel and AMD counterparts.
However, the problem arises when you want to do some heavy lifting. This is where the limitations of the Snapdragon X chipset come into play. If you work a lot with editing software or gaming, you may want to look elsewhere, as this laptop doesn’t fit that niche. Additionally, while both companies are working to bring ARM support to multiple applications, there are still limitations to the compatibility of older Windows software with Snapdragon.
ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) Battery: Impressive
- Battery Capacity – 70WHr Lithium Polymer (Typical)
- Fast charging – 65W adapter
The best thing about the laptop is its battery life. The ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) comes with a large 70WHr battery that the brand claims can provide up to 32 hours of backup. In real-world use, I could easily get around 15 to 20 hours of battery backup with heavy to moderate use. During my testing, the laptop easily lasted a full day and still had some battery left for the next morning.
The battery life of this laptop is impressive and can last for many days with moderate use.
In addition, the laptop also supports 65W fast charging, which can charge the laptop from 0% to 100% in less than 2 hours. The longer battery life is much better than its Intel and AMD counterparts, which typically get around 7 to 9 hours of backup.
ASUS Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) Verdict
The Asus Vivobook S16 (S3607QA) brings some decent value-added at a price below Rs. 70,000 price range. The company has launched new color options that look stylish and elegant. The OLED display does look good, and is much better than the IPS options offered by some competitors. Performance is an area that can be a bit polarizing. Those who want a laptop to handle day-to-day tasks may find this an interesting option, while those who generally need to handle a lot of tasks or want a laptop to run some games may consider their counterparts from Intel or AMD, as they offer better GPU performance and can handle such tasks better.
However, what it loses in heavy-duty performance it makes up for in battery life. For those who are constantly worried about battery issues while traveling, a laptop is the best option as you can easily get more than a day’s backup with this machine. Additionally, the list of AI-powered features is expected to grow in the future, making AI-powered laptops an always safe investment. Coming to the competition, Asus Vivobook S16 will face fierce competition with products such as Moto Book 60 (review), Infinix Inbook Air Pro+ (review), HP OmniBook 3 (review), etc.
