Pre-orders for the upcoming ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally will reportedly begin next month. The price of these handheld consoles in Europe has also been revealed by a publication, which is in line with previous leaks about the cost of the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. They’re expected to go on sale the same day Microsoft schedules a live show where it’s expected to announce titles for Asus’ new Xbox-branded consoles.

Asus ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X will start pre-orders in Europe on August 20, Dealabs reports. According to reports, the ROG Xbox Ally is priced at EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 60,400), while the Xbox Ally X is priced at EUR 899 (approximately Rs. 90,700). These prices are the same as those leaked by sources in June.
While there’s no official announcement from Microsoft or Asus, the Redmond company has scheduled a demo at Gamescom 2025, which kicks off at 3pm CET (6:30pm IST) that day. The console is expected to be available in October.
At Gamescom 2025, Microsoft will also allow gamers to test a demo version of its upcoming game Hollow Knight: Silk Song on the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X. Other games the company mentioned as already available on other platforms include Roblox, Sea of Thieves and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.

At last month’s Xbox Gaming Showcase, Microsoft unveiled the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, which were developed in partnership with Taiwanese electronics company Asus. ROG Xbox Ally comes with an AMD Ryzen Z2 chip coupled with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB storage. The Ally X model, meanwhile, comes with a more powerful Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor paired with 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1GB storage.
Both models feature a 7-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of up to 500nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It also features FreeSync Premium and DXC anti-reflective coating for improved visibility.
ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. However, the standard model has two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, while the ROG Xbox Ally X model has one USB4 Type-C port and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. Both handheld consoles feature a MicroSD card reader and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
ASUS has equipped the ROG Xbox Ally with a 60Wh battery, while the ROG Xbox Ally X has a larger 80Wh battery. These consoles can be charged using a 65W charger cradle. ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X weigh 670 grams and 715 grams respectively.
