Amazon Smart Plug has been launched in India, it can make everyday appliances or household electronic products “smarter”. The Amazon Smart Plug acts as a buffer between the power outlet and the device, and allows you to use the Alexa app or an Alexa-enabled smart speaker to turn the device on or off. According to Amazon, Amazon Smart Plug is easy to set up. It has a 3-pin socket design and 6A rated power.

The price of Amazon Smart Plug is Rs. 1,999 and listed as a white option on Amazon. It is currently on sale, can be used with Echo Dot, the price is Rs. 4,498 or Echo Dot with Rs clock. 5,498.

The rated input voltage of Amazon Smart Plug is 220V to 240V, 50/60Hz, and the maximum input and output current is 6A. It uses 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, which is not applicable to the 5GHz band. It has a 3-pin design and is compatible with Fire OS, Android and iOS devices through the Alexa app. You can use a compatible Echo, Fire TV or any Alexa device to operate the smart plug. There is an on/off button on the left and an LED indicator on the front. If your TV is connected to the Amazon Smart Plug, the smart plug essentially enables you to say something like “Alexa, turn on the TV.”
Amazon Smart Plug can also be used to turn on or off mobile chargers, lights, kettles and other devices, however, it should not be used for bulky devices such as AC power, geysers or water heaters. In terms of size, the Amazon Smart Plug is 46×71.3x37mm and weighs 104 grams.
How to set up Amazon Smart Plug
To set it up, connect the smart plug to the socket, open the Alexa app, and you should see “New plug found.” Click on it and complete the setup process. If you don’t see the notification, you can also set it manually. Tap the “Device” icon in the lower right corner of the Alexa app, and then tap the “+” icon.
