As a leak earlier this month claimed, the Silent Hill 2 remake will indeed be coming to the PlayStation Plus game catalog in October. While Bloober Team is remaking this classic, they’re also releasing another horror remake in honor of Halloween. The Until Dawn remaster of Ballistic Moon, released on PS5 and PC last year, will also be added to the PS Plus game catalog in October. Other games joining the service this month include action-adventure game Yakuza: Like a Dragon, action-RPG V Rising, interactive adventure game As Dusk Falls, puzzle-horror game Poppy Playtime and survival game Wizard with a Gun.

All games will be added to the game catalog on October 21st and will be available to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium members. Sony also released a classic Tekken game for its Classics Catalog, which will be available to PS Plus Premium subscribers this month. Here’s a closer look at this month’s game catalog lineup:

October PS Plus Game Catalog Titles

October is the month of all things scary. Earlier this month, Sony kicked off the Halloween festivities by adding Alan Wake 2 to PS Plus. PlayStation parent company will add the critically acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake to its catalog of games this month, as leakers say. Developed by Bloober Team, the remaster updates the 2001 horror classic to modern visual standards while also improving gameplay and other features.

In the game, the player takes on the role of James Sunderland, a grieving widower who comes to the eerie, foggy, deserted town of Silent Hill to search for answers. The oppressive and isolating atmosphere of the eponymous town adds to the psychological horror themes explored in the game. In Silent Hill 2, players will encounter grotesque monsters and uncover bits and pieces of the past. The game is playable on PS5.

The game catalog will also be adding a remake of Until Dawn this month. The remake updates the graphics of the original and adds some new content, allowing players to essentially take control of a horror film and decide who lives and who dies. The game tells the story of a group of young friends who gather at a mountain cabin one year after a traumatic event. But when they reconnect and reminisce, they find themselves being hunted by a manic serial killer.

Until Dawn is a narrative adventure game where the player’s decisions determine every turn of the game. Depending on the choices you make, some or all of your characters can survive the cold night or die a brutal death. Until Dawn remaster will be available to PS Plus subscribers on PS5.

Another big AAA game joining PS Plus in October is Yakuza: Like a Dragon . Ryu Ga Gotoku, the 2020 RPG, introduces new series protagonist Kasuga Ichiban, a low-ranking member of a Tokyo yakuza family. Kasuga is betrayed by his former boss, and over the course of the story, along with a group of eccentric allies, he uncovers the conspiracy.

“Yakuza: Like a Dragon” also abandons the real-time action combat of the previous game and brings turn-based RPG combat. Players can be aided by party members and their unique abilities, and can also use their environment in combat. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is playable on PS4 and PS5.

The role-playing game will be available on PS5 to PS Plus members.
