It was a complicated weekend for the Kmet family.
Cole Kmet and the Chicago Bears will host the Green Bay Packers in their first playoff appearance since 2020, but the loyalty of Cole’s sister, Frankie Kmet, is unclear. That’s because Frankie is dating Packers defensive end Lucas Van Ness, and Kmet may have to stop him on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters this week, Kmet lightly joked that he didn’t speak to his sister during Packers week so he didn’t know who she was rooting for.
“I usually find out after the game,” Kmet said of his sister’s loyalty. “Normally she’s happy to see us both healthy and all those sisterly things, but deep down I want her to support us.”
Saturday’s game provides an opportunity for the Bears to turn things around. Chicago has struggled against the Packers since the 1990s, but now Ben Johnson and company can send Green Bay away and usher in a new tier in the NFC North. As an Illinois native, this must have been attractive to Frankie, even if her partner lost.
