The first game of the World Baseball Classic will be played on Wednesday, March 4 at the Tokyo Dome, pitting Chinese Taipei against Australia. Each team sends its country’s best players to the international tournament, which takes place approximately every three years. The tournament’s group stage lasts just over a week; the playoffs will begin on March 13, with the championship final scheduled for March 17 at 8pm ET.
