Devil’s Advocate Podcast co-host Gaz Drinkwater says he may make Michael Carrick the permanent manager at the end of the season.
“If he’s in the top four, I’ll give it to him,” Drinkwater said on this week’s show.

“If he’s between second and fourth, he’s 100 percent going to get the job.
“But if you ask me to make a choice now, you’re asking me to gamble twice on ‘Can we finish in the top four?’ and ‘Is Luis Enrique the better choice?’ “
“If you asked me to make a decision now, I would call Luis Enrique. Because I don’t know what will happen before the end of the season.
“Carrick is proving himself. If United finish sixth, he has done enough to prove himself because we have to finish sixth to get a Premier League position.”
“For teams in the middle or bottom of the Premier League, he has proven he can get those jobs. He is too good to be an assistant manager.”
“If we get into the top four – which I think we will – then I’ll give him the job.”
